Each month TurkStat (TÜİK) publishes home sales figures, including sales to foreign nationals. Here is a short summary of the September 2026 release.
Key figures
- Total home sales in Türkiye: 142,390, down 9.3% compared with September 2025.
- Sales to foreigners: 2,167 homes, up 9.9% year on year, about 1.5% of all sales.
- January to September 2026: 15,308 homes sold to foreigners, 4.3% fewer than in the same period of 2025.
- Top buyer nationalities in September: Russia 388, Iraq 166, Germany 162.
- New-build homes made up 36.2% of all sales (51,519 units).
What it means for buyers
Foreign demand recovered in September after a weaker first half, while the overall market slowed. Russian buyers remain the largest group. For buyers from Iran, Russia and the Gulf, Istanbul new-build projects with clear title deeds and established developers continue to be the main focus.
