Owning a home in Türkiye can make you eligible for a short-term residence permit. It is a different route from citizenship by investment and has its own conditions.
Main conditions
- The property must be a residence registered in your name at the land registry.
- Since October 2023 the value is generally expected to be at least USD 200,000 for a first application based on property.
- Some neighbourhoods have been closed to new residence registrations of foreigners; the status is checked on the day you apply.
- You need health insurance valid in Türkiye, a valid passport and address registration.
Application steps
- Online application through the e-residence system of the Presidency of Migration Management.
- Appointment at the provincial migration office with original documents and biometric photos.
- The residence card is sent by post to your registered address.
